Is it for heavens gain?

Is it to walk the streets of gold and hear the angels sing?

Is it to drink from the fountain that never shall run dry?

Or to live for ever and ever?

Is it for prestige and adulation of the crowd?

Is it so that I can walk into a conference knowing I’m part of something great and exciting with a bible in one hand and a credential in the other.

Is it for the frequent flyer points?  The Hollywood escapist life style of the west!

Do I serve Him out of a sense of “wanting to be needed”?   Serving like Martha to fulfil a deep desire, a sense of self- worth and wanting?

One must ask one self, why do I do what I do?  It’s a great exercise that will hopefully lead you on a journey of discovery about yourself.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!  Whether my family is close by or far away, “The Kingdom of God” must be our first priority.

In saying that, it’s not something that we should have to put on or force our minds to do.  It’s part of who we are.  So natural!  The kinetic flow of our life should be just like breathing.  Not to go here and go there.  Not climbing some imaginary ladder to reach some pinnacle of success.  It’s just BEING!

Walking in His love and purpose!  Knowing His sweet anointing on your life.  That ability to breathe in and touch His presence!  Wow!  The fragrant aroma of God!  Can I say, is there anything like it?  Nothing that compares!  To be close to Him and hear His voice, so powerful, so gentle, so loving and kind.

As Katherine Khulman said many years ago…I’ve died a thousand deaths but I wouldn’t change anything, that I might experience the presence of His Holy spirit.

My Uncle Andrew was put on a boat as a little boy to attend boarding school in Australia and there he grew in stature and courage.  His father and mother were in India as missionaries.  The price was paid.  The cost was great but the Kingdom of God advanced and the rest is history.  It’s imperative to be driven by a cause that is bigger than the world that some create in their minds.  The cause of Christ must consume you and grip the very core of your life! “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive 100 times as much and will inherit the eternal life” (Mt 19:29)

We are the salt of the earth, if we lose our saltiness how can it be made salty again?  We are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  In the same way let your light shine before men that they may see…

Why do I serve Him?  I am compelled!  The cross demands it.  Matthew’s book says of this matter  “Anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me”.   This is spiritual truth.  “Who ever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it”

Find rest for your soul is found in Him.  A humble heart seeks first the kingdom of God!  We must change and become like little children.

I am fascinated by verse 14 in Matthew 22.  It may help you if I give you my interpretation.  Matthew 22: 14 “for many are invited, but few are chosen”  Are you chosen to make a difference for this generation?  The answer is yes if you take up your cross.  Preparation is in-between and constant.  For example there are tests and trials before we receive the promotion.

Why do I serve the Lord?

It’s a higher and nobler way to live life.  It’s like breathing.  It’s part of my lifestyle of worship.  It’s the right way.  It’s God’s way.  It’s living according to the pattern that God laid out for us in scripture.  The correct disposition one must have, is to live to please Him!
